This weekend has been absolutely perfect. My small family took a trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival on Saturday, and we had a blast. I have been to the festival many times over the last 11 years, and I always wanted to have the "perfect" outfit. Well this year, my goal was finally achieved! I have been lucky enough to collaborate with Hips & Curves for my Renaissance outfit. Hips & Curves is a plus size lingerie company encouraging women to #BeFullyYou and to love themselves. They continue to give fuller figured women confidence, as well as amazing quality lingerie that any woman would feel like a queen to wear. They have such an array of items available to suit every woman's taste in lingerie, sleepwear, and costumes. Check out their website below, and I am sure you will fall in love with this company as quickly as I have.
Let's start with this Tara Underbust Corset. I have never found a better fit in any corset that I have ever owned. I have around a 36.5" waist, and I ordered a size 36. The website says to order 4-6 inches below your waist size. I ended up getting the size 36 because I didn't want to cinch this very tightly, and also wanted it to be comfortable to wear throughout the day. This size was perfect for me because it was very comfortable, and I can tighten or loosen the corset without having the large gap in the back. This is great quality and 100% genuine leather. The color of this corset is just a beautiful tan marbling, and all the buckles add a great detail to this piece. The leather straps are sold separately, and are totally worth it because they add the perfect touch to complete this look. This Soft Cotton Bell Sleeve Dress looked gorgeous underneath the corset. I went with a 1X, my typical size, and it was true to size. This dress can be worn on or off the shoulders. It has a beautiful lace trim around the sleeves, neck, and hemline. It was very comfortable throughout the day, and didn't bunch up underneath my corset, which is a plus. I was completely satisfied with all the pieces from Hips & Curves. The items were true to size, amazing quality, and just beautifully crafted. Look below for direct links to the items listed above. I paired this look with a winter antler headdress and brown riding boots. I made the antler headdress, and was inspired by many tutorials on YouTube.
Our day at the Texas Renaissance Festival was magical. It feels like I am taking a step back in time every time I visit, and it never gets old. There is a large variety of shops and different eats. Many different entertainment shows from jousting to belly dancing. Gardens & trails to walk and view all the beauty of nature. There is always a positive vibe to feed on because everyone is down to Earth, and looking to have a good time. I enjoyed spending time with my family at this function. We shopped, browsed, pigged out, watched many entertaining shows, and modeled for a fantasy shoot. It was my idea of a perfect day. For more information on the festival.
